The Make the Dash Count Foundation is excited to annouce the formation of our third Regional Board of Directors in Prosser, Washington. The Columbia Valley Regional Youth Board will convene in September 2006. They join the South Sound Regional Board (Puget Sound, Washington) and the MetroWest Regional Board (Wayland, Massachusettes). Each of these boards will have the responsibility of grant making decisions in their communities. They will participate in site visits, reviw grant proposals and, ultimately, make funding decisions to help support children at risk.

In addition to the decisions made by the Regional Boards of Directors, the Foundation had the opportunity in 2006 to support the following organizations with Founder’s Gifts:

-$25,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

-$10,000 matching gift to National Organization Caring for Kids (NOCK)

-A $50,000 Make the Dash Count Endowment has also been established for Uncompensated Care at Children’s’ Hospital

We continue to be energized by the pride and promise shown in our extraordinary Youth Boards. Their dedication and commitment to helping at-risk children is truly an inspiration to us all. We look forward to sharing the fruits of their generosity with you.

The second annual "The Dash" Race for the Kids” was held in Prosser, Washington on June 10, 2006. Plans are already underway for the third annual event which will be held on Sunday June 17, 2007.
