MAKING A DIFFERENCE

ELIZABETH'S DASH

Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I am eleven years old and live in Massachusetts. When I was in the fifth grade I wanted to try and make my dash count.

In order to try and do that I have grown out my hair 14 inches from my pony tail. I had started to grow my hair in the 4th grade and as you can see it doesn't take me to long to grow out my hair. When my hair was cut it was donated to "Locks of Love" where it was sent to make a wig for some little girl or grown woman who doesn't have much hair and is suffering from a sickness. My grandmother and my sister Colleen inspired me to cut my hair. When Colleen was in the 5th grade she cut her hair and donated it to "Locks of Love" just as I have. My grandmother also inspired me because she has cancer and I felt like I wanted to do something to help her and other people in her same situation.

Now that I have donated my hair I feel like I have made my dash count but I still want to keep helping so I'm growing my hair out again to donate it to "Locks of Love". I hope somewhere I have helped someone in the world. I feel that I have not only made my dash count but I have also made someone's day.
